Condition

Overall, the condition of the wood is very good, with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. The wood is carved in sections, and some joints are slightly visible, in particular to the head and shoulder of the putto on the right hand side and to the underside. There are two pegs to the reverse, possibly in order to keep the parts together. There is stable splitting to the wood, consistent with the material, notably to the hair and face of the putto on the left hand side. There is some rubbing to the varnish at the high points.
