Description

  • Ubaldo Gandolfi
  • Academy study: Nude man seated on a boulder
  • Red chalk, upper corners cut
  • Approximately 355 x 430 mm

Condition

Laid down on a card backing the sheet has been trimmed in the upper left and right corners and the somewhat cropped foot on the right suggests that the right edge may also have been previously fractionally wider. There is a small loss to the upper right corner by the figures left elbow and some further pinprick holes to the same area. There are two small losses to the Lowe right corner and a light brown stain to the right centre. The red chalk medium remains predominantly fresh throughout with the image strong. Sold in a giltwood frame.
