Condition
Hinge mounted to a modern mount. There is an old vertical crease down the centre of the sheet and a small stain to the upper right quarter. Otherwise in predominantly good condition with the combination of media fresh throughout.

The composition of the present work is also known in reverse, with some minor differences in staffage, through a drawing previously in the collection of Jean de Grez, now housed in the Koninklijke Musea voor Schone Kunsten van België, Brussels.1
