Condition

This work has been well preserved and the colours are largely very strong. There are occasional minor areas of surface dirt and discolouration but these are only noticeable on very close inspection.

Catalogue Note

The sitter was Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of Nepal. In 1850 he travelled to Europe visiting Britain, France and Egypt before returning to Kathmandu in 1851.
