Condition

A lovely group. Condition relates to age and function and heavy use. The largest is in very good order and a fine example of its type. The engraved plaque to the interior pull out tray is dated October 6, 1855. The lacquered brass mounts are tarnished in places. The walnut example is by Parkins & Gotto and has an ivorine plaque which relates. Scratches to the top and brass inlaid shield. Interior generally good. The letter case has the retailers plaque for Leuchars of Piccadilly, London. The interior is distressed and with losses. This case is of some quality.
