  • 152cm. high, 96cm. wide, 45cm. deep; 5ft., 3ft. 1¾in., 1ft. 5¾in.
the mottled grey marble top above a frieze drawer, the canted corners applied with gilt-bronze chutes, with a fall-front above a pair of doors, on bracket feet, the whole inlaid with cube parquetry; adapted, rebacked

Provenance

Most probably entered the Thoresby Hall collection through Georgine de Franquetot, wife of Charles Pierrepont, 3rd Earl Manvers from the estate of her father Gustave de Franquetot, Duc de Coigny (1800 - 1865) during the second half of the 19th century;
Thence by descent.

Condition

Overall a solid and attractive piece. The marble top with minor marks and scratches. The frieze drawer with the two lateral veneer bands missing, as visible in the catalogue picture. There is one horizontal crack on the fall-front, and two further vertical ones on the bottom doors. The sides with some lifting and further cracks. The interior possibly re-arranged, and formerly fitted with three shelves. The writing surface with wear and tear. Rebacked.
