oval, the raised border chased with a band of stiff matted foliage below a gadroon border, engraved with a coat-of-arms within a scrolling foliate cartouche, the underside with scratch weight '53=5'

Provenance

Most probably purchased by Arthur Hill-Trevor, 1st Viscount Dungannon (of the second creation) (1694 - 1771) for Belvoir Park, Fermanagh; Moved to Brynkinalt Hall, Denbighshire by Arthur Hill-Trevor, 2nd Viscount Dungannon (1763 – 1837) in 1795 upon the sale of Belvoir Park; Thence by descent.

Condition

The arms appear to have been engraved at a slightly later date (probably replacing an earlier erased engraving). The centre has also been erased. Probably re-gilded at this point in time. Unmarked. Very good gauge. Good condition overall.
