Condition
The supports consists of two panels joined vertically in the centre. These two panels have come apart. The varnish is discoloured and has dulled. The paint surface has suffered a degree of wear throughout, although some of the finer details of the face, ruff, cuff and glove remain. There are small losses throughout as a result of some flaking to the paint surface. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals a very thick and opaque varnish and some finely executed restoration, mainly to the left panel to minimalize the appearance of aforementioned surface wear.
