Condition
Both panels consist of three vertical uncradled planks. That depicting the younger man has developed a slight convex man. That depicting the older man has a large old diagonal split which has been re-glued. Both paintings are extremely dirty and their varnish layers perished. The paint surfaces of both pictures are worn, and in some places has led to the loss of much of the detail in the darks. The faces, ruffs and hands, especially that of the older man, are much better preserved.
Both offered in plain wood frames with some chips and losses.
