Condition
The large canvas is unlined, the paint surface is stable but very dirty. An original vertical canvas seam runs down the picture 34 cm in from the left hand edge, and this has started to come apart near the bottom - there is no paint loss there as yet. There is an old 6cm tear in the upper right corner that has a patch on the reverse.
Inspection under ultra violet light reveals only minimal old repairs.
Offered in a badly damaged old (if not original) gilt plaster frame.
