- German School, 18th Century
- A set of nine officers' portraits including that of Christian Friedrich, Graf von Haxthausen (1690-1740), Major von Barnewitz, Captain Lieutenant Fristenberg, Captains Heinrich Reus, Abraham Christian de Willarst, Andreas Hummer, and three other officers, J. Thomsen, J.F. von Rantzau, and the third bearing the initials N.N.
- each inscribed with the identity of the sitter and charged with their coat of arms
- all oil on canvas, unlined

Condition
The canvasses are all unlined, the paint surfaces are dirty with discoloured varnishes. The portrait of Graf von Haxthausen has a tear in the canvas at the upper right.
Several are made of two or three strips of canvas, the seams visible at the front. They are in moderate overall condition - some have numerous abrasions and losses. The two canvasses that are most badly abraded are those of J.F. von Rantzau, and the portrait bearing the initials N.N.
Each canvas has a gilt frame stuck to the front of the canvas.
