Description

each piece painted with two squirrel amongst peony and rockwork, comprising thirty-seven plates; forty-one shallow bowls; six slightly larger dishes; three large circular dishes, a larger bowl and two larger dishes, a pair of tureens, covers and stands; six large sauce boats; two small sauce boats and two small tripod salts; together with twenty-nine plates painted with peony amongst rockwork; twelve plates painted with plantain, peony and rockwork in a fenced garden; three smaller plates painted with lotus; six Japanese Imari dishes and a Japanese Imari bowl
Condition
This service is in reasonably good condition but has the following condition issues:
Six shallow bowls are cracked and one is repaired. Twenty four shallow bowls are Japanese replacements and are inscribed to the base.
The six larger sauceboats are Japanese replacements and are inscribed to the base and the two smaller ones are both damaged and riveted to the handles.
There is a chip to one tureen stand and to the pomegranate finial of one tureen cover.
Two Japanese Imari square dishes are cracked.
Eight plates are cracked and three are chipped and cracked.
There is some fritting to the larger dishes and bowl.
