bidding is closed

Description

  • walnut
  • 137cm. wide; 4ft. 6in.
with later cut-velvet upholstery

Condition

Overall in reasonable 'country house' condition. The cut velvet upholstery is in reasonably good condition with typical signs of wear. The rear leg with spliced repairs and the rear right leg with signs of worm damage which appears to be no longer active but has resulted in a degradation of the stretcher and a number of crude repairs that would benefit from further attention. Further there are signs of wood worm throughout which no longer appears to be active. The colour is faded and the frame would benefit from a wax according to taste. Overall with minor old marks and scratches consistent with age and use.
