about Wagnerianism in France, denying newspaper reports that he has written an article against Germany, when in fact it was directed against French Wagnerians, emphasizing that nothing will stop him from expressing his opinions, and observing that Wagner's writings are hardly a model of moderation themselves; he thanks his friend for the successful conference on his works and mentions his opera Étienne Marcel, drawing an amusing self-caricature of himself at the organ, 6 pages, various sizes, stamp to one letter ("E.
