Catalogue Note

PROBABLY THE MOST IMPORTANT RUBINSTEIN MANUSCRIPT TO BE OFFERED AT AUCTION DURING THE LAST 30 YEARS.

The Symphony no. 6 was written in 1886 and dedicated to the Leipzig Gewandhaus Society Concerts. It was published the same year by Senff in Leipzig (Rubinstein's main publisher in his final years). An emotional work in the grand Romantic manner, it was the composer's last symphony.
