  • Contemporary manuscript of five numbers from the tragédie lyrique "Atys", and others, signed and dated by the scribe in 1784

The full score for voices and orchestra, notated in brown ink on systems of up to ten staves each, the vocal parts in the treble clef, and with other differences from the published score, signed and inscribed by the scribe ("peyre copiste...a la pla[ce] de civade 23 ma[rs] 1784"), with instructions to an assistant regarding transpositions, comprising shortened versions of Atys’s air 'Amants qui vous plaignés [sic]' (Act 1, scene 1), Sangaride’s 'Est il un destin plus cruel!' (Act 1, sc.4), Cybele’s 'Je ressens un Plaisir extreme' (Act 2, sc.1), Atys’s 'Quel trouble agite mon coeur' (Act 2, sc.3) and the duet 'Jurons jurons de nous aimer toujours' (Act 3, sc.4); together with 'Si des galans de la ville' (from Rousseau's Le Devin du village) and (possibly in the hand of the assistant), a transposed version of the duet 'Jurons jurons', the manuscript comprising eight sections in all

97 pages, small folio (c.27.5 x 19cm), 12-stave paper, 10 blanks, additional music in pencil, nineteenth-century half calf, 23 [March] 1784, trimmed by the binder, worn but sound

3) Atys Act 2, sc.3: Atys “Quel trouble agite mon coeur”, his part in the treble clef, [FS , Act 2, pp. 154-164, 20 leaves:
