Condition

The canvas is original. The is one extremely fine line of cracking, which runs vertically down the left edge; this is only visible upon very close inspection. There are some possible spots of loss to the extreme lower right edge, which could be in keeping with the artist's technique. There are one or two very tiny instances of studio matter and detritus, only visible upon extremely close inspection. Subject to the above the work appears to be in overall very good condition. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals a small number of localised areas of florescence and possible retouching within the white pigment. These have been very sensitively executed. The work is float mounted within a painted metal frame. Please telephone the department on +44 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding this work.
