Sale, Christie's South Kensington, 24th October 2007, lot 61, (as Myth & the Snake Birds), where acquired by the present owners

Condition

Original canvas. The canvas undulates very slightly in the lower right corner, but otherwise appears sound. There are one or two small lines of craquelure and reticulation in places, only visible upon very close inspection. There is a spot of loss to the black pigment in the upper right quadrant. There are some spots of surface matter to the work. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in very good overall condition. Ultraviolet light reveals an uneven varnish layer. The work is housed in a painted wooden frame with a linen slip. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
