Condition
This condition report has been prepared by Stuart Sanderson (Paintings Conservation). The original stretcher is in good condition, the cotton support with artist's priming is good and the paint is generally very sound, with no cracks or breaks. There are minor marks at the corners and at the very edges as these have not been protected by a frame. There is a very small scratch in the bottom left corner of the blue with has been glazed down with retouching. There is a shallow horizontal depression about 20cms long, in the upper right quarter of the blue. Apart from those small blemishes the painting is in overall excellent condition.
