Exhibited

London, Jonathan Clark & Co in association with Laurent Delaye, Robyn Denny / Paintings / Collages / 1954-1968, 6th - 29th June 2007, cat. no.13, illustrated.

Condition

Unexamined out of frame. The work is fully laid down on to the backing board, except for a small window on the reverse showing the signature. The board appears to be sound and the collaged elements appear to be secure. There are a number of Artist's pinholes in the corners and to the centres of the edges. The upper layer of the collage element is lifting slightly at the centre of the upper edge, lower edge, and to the lower right corner. There is a small tear to the centre of the upper edge, to the left of the collaged element that has lifted. There are some other minor nicks to the edges of the sheet. There are some creases to the upper layer of the collage on the sheet, thought to be in keeping with the Artist's technique. There are a couple of very minor losses to the upper layer of collage. Subject to the above the works appears to be in very good overall condition. The work is float mounted and held behind glass in a simple wooden frame.
