Condition
The sheet appears fully laid down onto a board, which itself is fully laid down to a panel. There is an old horizontal crease running through the centre of the composition. There are frame abrasions visible around the extreme edge, including some small associated losses. There are traces of surface dirt and studio detritus, but this excepting the work appears in good overall condition.
Inspection under ultra violet reveals minor scattered retouchings throughout, with one 7 cm horizontal line of restoration running through the centre towards the right edge. These have been sensitively executed.
The work is held in a carved gilt wood frame.
