Condition

The work is formed of two canvas joined horizontally, both of which are sound. There are traces of craquelure visible to the lower canvas to the blue, and some corresponding areas of unevenness, together with a few smaller traces to the lower left corner of the top canvas. This excepting the work appears in very good overall condition. Ultraviolet light reveals a few minor areas of fluorescence and probable retouching to the lower canvas, including to the right of the top edge and to the bottom horizontal red pigment. These have been sensitively executed. Housed in a thin dark wooden frame. Please contact the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
