Condition

The board appears sound, and is fully adhered to the artist's prepared backing board. There are some tiny, light abrasions to the extreme edge of the board, possibly in keeping with the nature of the artist's techniques. There is some light compression to some of the raised areas of thicker impasto. There are traces of light surface dirt, including most notably in the bottom left corner, but this excepting the work appears in very good overall condition. Ultraviolet light reveals a small spot of fluorescence and retouching just below the dark spot of impasto to the centre of the floral composition. This has been very sensitively executed. Housed in a thin gilt frame. Please contact the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
