Condition

The sculpture is sound. There is a crack, in line with the grain, at the top of the work, which appears to have been previously filled with adhesive or sealant. There are two further cracks within the hollowed section of the figure, with traces of similar matter. There are further small and fine cracks, also in line with the grain, throughout piece, some of which also may have previously been similarly filled. There are small black marks to the work along the front top edge and the front lower edge, as well as in one or two further places. There are a few extreme small knocks and scatches to the edges of the carving. There is a light layer of surface dirt in places. There is light wear to the base of the work. Subject to the above the work is in very good overall condition. The sculpture is freestanding.
