Condition
Illustration is accurate.
The porcelain is in good overall condition despite a firing crack on the top of the head on both candelabra.
Both gilt bronze bases don't fit perfectly with the figures so white composition has been filled in.
Some gilt-bronze leaves have been refixed later. Attractive model. Overall condition is good with expected wears to the giltbronze mounts.

Catalogue Note
La composition de la base et des bras, le traitement des feuillages et des bobêches s'apparente au travail du bronzier piémontais, Charles-François Ladatte (1706-1787), premier sculpteur de Charles-Emmanuel III de Savoie. On retrouve cette composition sur deux paires d'appliques Apollon et Daphné, l'une conservée à Milan au Museo Poldi Pezzoli, l'autre ancienne collection galerie Steinitz.
Originaire du Piémont, il vint à Paris, fut certainement influencé par l'oeuvre de Charles Cressent et fut agréé à l'Académie royale de Peinture et de Sculpture en 1736.
