Condition
Some minor surface dirt and some discoloration to the patina, consistent with age and handling. A few very minor chips to the flowers in her hair, and edges of the drapery. The left braid in the back of her hair is broken off. The grey marble base with some surface dirt. Terracotta finely modelled in overall very good condition.

Catalogue Note
Le traitement très élaboré de la coiffure, la dentelle et le drapé de la robe rappelle les oeuvres du sculpteur Claude-Andre Deseine (1740-1823). Un buste en plâtre conservé au Statens Nationalmuseum à Stockholm représentant une jeune femme coiffée d'une couronne de fleurs, signé et daté 1784, peut être rapproché de notre portrait (inv.n° NM. Sk 2213).
