Presentation copy, inscribed to General Nelson Miles, one of the army's principal commanders during the Trans-Mississippi Indian Wars: "To Maj. Gen'l. Nelson A. Miles from Frederic Remington In memory of many long miles—some rather cold nights and warm days with a few tin-cups full of 'How!'" Presentation copies of this title are very uncommon.
