Condition

The painting appears to have been recently conserved is is ready to hang. The canvas is stable with an old glue relining. The paint surface is clean beneath a clear varnish and retains some of its original impasto. Inspection under UV reveals strengthening to all edges and finer retouching scattered throughout the sky attending to the craquelure pattern, There appears to be a small repaired punture to the sky, upper left, another in the architecture at right, and a repaired tear in the cloud at center. The painting requires no further work and is offered in a elaborately carved gilt wood frame.
