Condition

The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. 502 East 74th St. New York, NY 212-734-3920, simonparkes@msn.com, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. This work has a restored horizontal fold across the center, which runs through the mouth of the figure. There are very few retouches elsewhere in the face, except for the left side of the forehead and a few spots in the nose. There are a few retouches in the dark color in the lower right and beneath the collar, and a few other small restorations in the lower and upper left. There is no visible abrasion or weakness to the paint layer. The work is in good condition.
