Exhibited
Providence, Museum of Art, Rhode Island School of Design; Tampa, The Tampa Museum; Norfolk, The Chrysler Museum, The Discovery of the Everyday : Seventeenth Century Dutch Paintings from the Wolf Collection, 1982 - 1983, no. 54 (as by Willem van de Velde the Younger).

Condition
The panel is uncradled, flat and stable. The overall paint surface is well preserved, with only some slight thinness in the clouds at upper right, and there is very nice retention of detail. There is some minor scuffing at upper right corner. Under UV light: there are some very tiny dots of retouching in clouds at upper center and a small retouch in lower right corner. Possibly some reworking in clouds upper right, but hard to read in this area.
Offered in an elaborately carved and gilt wood frame with minor nicks.
