Condition
An old glue relining is firm and stable. Under a discolored old varnish. The surface has been a bit pressed in the aforementioned relining and there is some thinness in the bowl at right, and in the grapes and leaves. Overall, the painting still reads well and presents a decorative image. There is some very slight buckling of the canvas at the lower right corner. Under UV light: the varnish fluoresces unevenly making it difficult to read. There appears to be some strengthening to the stem of the grapes at center and possibly to the leaves at right, but it is hard to tell.
Offered in a carved and gilt wood frame with some minor nicks.
