Canvas is unlined. The surface is clean and painting is presentable as is. The paint surface overall has been well retained and there is very nice detail throughout in the figures and architecture. Examination under UV light reveals retouchings on the side of the building at far left and, to its right, on the dark outlines of the windows and arches of the Procuratie. Other scattered reinforcements can be seen on the darks among the figures, a few scattered small retouches to upper sky, on building lower right and in foreground near bottom edge. These have all been well applied and there is no need for further work. In a carved and gilt wood frame.
