Condition

The canvas is unlined. This painting is very beautiful and presents very well to the naked eye. It may be hung in its current condition. The surface is clean and the colors are vibrant. UV light reveals a clean fresh varnish. UV light also reveals a couple of isolated retouches, the most significant of which is an area approximately 4" x 1" in the middle left section of the sky. There are also a couple of other much smaller isolated retouches in the sky. The foreground figures, rocks and trees are all beautifully preserved. Again this picture can be hung in its current condition and the retouches are well applied. In a carved gilt wood frame.
