The canvas has been relined. The paint surface is under a thick and yellowed varnish and has been rather pressed in the aforementioned relining. Overall, however, the figure reads well and presents a decorative image. Under UV light: it is difficult to see anything through the old varnish. There is some retouching to the hair, but otherwise nothing else is visible through the varnish.
