Oil on canvas, with an old lining. The canvas undulates and there is bumping along the left side of the work. The surface, while thin and areas, is in overall good condition. The old yellowed varnish is still visible at the extreme edges. There is a 2 inch vertical tear, with a visible retouch at the lower end visible in the landscape to the left of the figures. A small puncture at the extreme upper left edge as well as a small dent with accompanying loss in the sky to the left of the tree. Scattered dots of surface accretion throughout. Under UV light, there are retouches throughout the sky. The majority of the landscape remains under a green fluorescing varnish.
