Literature

Condition
Oil on canvas, lined. Unframed. The surface is covered by a pressed web of craquelure. There are some visible retouches, mainly along the lower edge. The surface appears clean. There are small scattered areas of thinness, especially in the shadows of the work. Under UV light, there are scattered retouches evenly distributed throughout the work. There is retouching to address the craquelure throughout the sky; larger areas of retouching are visible at the upper left corner and along the center right edge. The areas in shadow, mainly along the right and lower edges, are slightly obscured by the old varnish. Overall the work presents well.
