Set with nine variously-cut emeralds weighing approximately 230.00 carats, framed and spaced by old mine-cut diamonds weighing approximately 35.00 carats, length 18 inches; the front panel circa 1900, the back chain of later addition, two diamonds missing.


In good condition. The emeralds range from a medium to medium deep bluish to slightly bluish green, lightly to moderately included, with a few examples bearing small surface reaching inclusions, cavities or nicking to the girdle, visible under magnification. The diamonds are approximately I-J color, SI-I clarity. The exact carat weights of the emeralds are stated to be: 15.66, 27.26, 25.58, 32.87, 36.40, 40..22, 33.61, 24.48 and 19.92 carats, for a total of 256.00 carats. Sotheby's has not independently confirmed those weights. Accompanied by AGL report no. 1081982 stating that the emeralds are of Colombian origin, clarity enhancement: minor to moderate, type: traditional. Also accompanied upon request by a photocopy of SSEF certificate no. 41499 stating the the emeralds are of Colombian origin, clarity enhancement: moderate, type: oil.
