Designed as a line of slightly graduated brilliant-cut diamonds, supporting a detachable pendant set with a pear-shaped emerald framed with brilliant-cut diamonds, further highlighted with a circular-cut emerald surrounded by pear-shaped diamonds, length approximately 475mm, signed VCA, numbered, French assay and maker's marks, pouch stamped Van Cleef & Arpels.

Condition

Accompanied by SSEF report no. 91249, stating that the pear-shaped emerald estimated to weigh approximately 3.9 carats, measuring approximately 15.40 x 10.00 x 3.90mm, is of Colombian origin, with a moderate amount of oil in fissures. Please note that Sotheby's is not responsible for the accuracy of any estimated weights provided by gemmological certificates. Necklace signed VCA, numbered 24905, French maker's mark. Stamped Pt 950 for platinum, French assay marks for platinum and 18 carat gold. Detachable pendant with French maker's mark for Van Cleef & Arpels, stamped Pt 950 for platinum and 750 for 18 carat gold. Emeralds well matched in colour, green of medium strong saturation, with typical surface-reaching inclusions, small nicks to the girdle, abrasions. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 35.00 - 37.00 carats, on average G-I colour, VS-SI clarity, as gauged and graded in the mount. Signs of wear to the metal consistent with light use. Clasps secure, safety catches. In very good condition. Total gross weight approximately 60 grams. Pouch stamped Van Cleef & Arpels.
