Set with an oval sapphire weighing 17.13 carats, the mount of bombé design pavé-set with brilliant-cut diamonds, size 521/2, signed monture VCA, numbered, French assay and maker's marks.
Condition
Accompanied by SSEF report no. 86893, stating that the oval sapphire weighing 17.13 carats and measuring 16.44 x 13.36 x 8.87mm, is of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating.
Signed Monture V-C-A, numbered 12540CS, French maker's mark for Van Cleef & Arpels. Stamped Pt 950 for platinum and 750 for 18 carat gold. Sapphire blue of medium strong saturation, with good transparency, some typical inclusions visible under close inspection, minor abrasions, scratches, chips and nicks; for further details on the sapphire, please refer to the gemmological report. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 6.00 - 9.00 carats, on average F-G colour, VVS-VS clarity, as gauged and graded in the mounting. Signs of normal wear to the metal. In very good condition. Gross weight approximately 15 grams.
