Description

  • Rubellite, diamond, platinum
Designed as a carved rubellite orchid in full bloom weighing 761.00 carats, to the centre highlighted with diamond briolettes, the largest diamond briolette weighing 11.07 carats, mounted in platinum and 18 karat white gold, may be worn as a pendant with accompanying diamond and silk cord, signed Cartier, numbered, with French and Russian assay marks and French maker's mark, necklace length 500mm, together with a rock crystal pedestal, case stamped Cartier.

Condition

Accompanied by a Cartier certificate of authenticity and original sketch by Cartier. Also accompanied by SSEF report no. 13576, dated 11 February 2011, stating that the briolette diamond weighing 11.07 carats and measuring 9.36 x 10.12 x 13.39mm, is J colour, VS2 clarity. Brooch/pendant signed Cartier and numbered H5S00049 with French maker's mark, French and Russian assay marks and stamped Pt 950 and 750 for platinum and 18 karat gold, mounted in white gold. Diamond and silk cord signed Cartier, numbered RK9351 with French and Russian assay marks and stamped Pt 950, OR and 750 for platinum and 18 karat white gold. Diamonds on silk cord, estimated to weigh approximately 5.50 carats in total, are on average E to F colour, mostly VVS to VS clarity as gauged and graded in the mounting. Rubellite stated to weigh 761 carats, with a few typical inclusions, some surface reaching. Diamonds stated to weigh a total of 42.83 carats, are on average I-K colour, mostly VS-SI clarity, as gauged and graded in the mount. Rock crystal pedestal, weighing approximately 7.36 kg with some abrasions and nicks, the fitting to attach the brooch on the crystal pedestal is missing. Minor signs of wear to the metal. Overall in very good condition. Case for the brooch signed Cartier.
