Condition

The sheet is attached to the mount with tape along all four edges. There is also old adhesive tape to the reverse, along all four edges. The sheet undulates, but otherwise appears sound. Upon extremely close inspection, it is possible to see some extremely tiny lines of craquelure to the thicker areas of cream gouache in the centre of the composition. There may be one or two extremely tiny losses to the gouache in places. There may be some discolouration to the sheet, and there are one or two small specks of light surface dirt in places. There are some very light scuff marks apparent upon closer inspection to the work. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in very good overall condition. The work is window mounted and presented in a simple wooden frame, held under glass. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
