FIRST EDITION, 8vo, title within an elaborate historiated woodcut, many half-page woodcuts & vignettes showing scenes from the gospels, full-page woodcut on V1, marginal woodcuts of pointing hands, nineteenth-century calf in period style, lacking X1 & X8, browning to title, trimmed by the binder affecting some side-notes and running heads, a few tears (M6, Q6-8) and occasional surface loss
