2 parts in one volume, 16mo (119 x 77mm.), woodcut printer's device on title-pages and final verso, woodcut initials and headpieces, with blank leaves H8 and yy4, ruled in red, arms of George Abbot as archbishop illuminated on flyleaf, seventeenth-century red morocco gilt with the letters GC on covers, flat spine gilt, gilt edges, stubs of cream silk ties, second flyleaf excised, occasional light staining, binding slightly rubbed, small crack at foot of upper cover

George Abbot (1562-1633), his arms as archbishop of Canterbury (from 1611) on flyleaf, and his initials on binding, GC (George Cantuar), possibly from his bequest to St Andrews; Alexander James, the gift of Ludovic Drummond, inscription on title-page; John Gordon, inscription on inside lower cover dated 1712; William O'Brien, bequest booklabel dated 1899
