Catalogue Note
RARE. ISTC and GW list copies in Paris (2), Ghent, Brussels and Göttingen only.
Thierry Martens was (along with Johannes de Westfalia) the first printer in Belgium; their first books were printed in Alost in 1473. Martens later printed in Antwerp and Louvain, from 1498 to 1501, before moving to Antwerp again in 1502, and returning to Louvain in 1512. This is one of two short works by Savonarola printed several times by Martens around this time (see Nijhoff & Kronenberg, 1861-1866). The colophon in this copy states "Per theodoricum martini".
