folio (300 x 195mm.), printed in red and black throughout, title within an elaborate historiated woodcut border, woodcuts, music staves in red, Hufnagel neumes in black (some also added by hand), CANON PRINTED ON VELLUM with hand-coloured woodcut Crucifixion (on t1 verso), device at end ("Fortuna", lightly defaced), nineteenth-century panelled calf in period style, flyleaves from a medieval manuscript on vellum, lacking g8 (folio 56), tears to L5, 2G8 & 2H1, with a few repairs, some staining to D, 2A and to lower corners at the end of the volume
