Catalogue Note

ONLY FOUR COPIES RECORDED BY ESTC AND NO RECORD FOUND AT AUCTION FOR MANY DECADES. This work by the ecclesiastic and scholar Thomas Lupset (c.1495–1530) is one of a number of well-documented works in the Ars Moriendi (“art of dying”) tradition in England. Lupset’s is noteworthy in particular for its more humanistic approach. In addition to his own religious works and translations, Lupset assisted More, Erasmus and Linacre in preparing their works for the press.
