Catalogue Note

Augurelli was a humanist scholar and a friend of both Bernardo and Pietro Bembo (whose verses Gli Asolani Aldus had printed just a month earlier) and of Marsilio Ficino. Most of the poems in this collection are addressed to friends or notable public figures, including Aldus himself. Some of them had previously appeared in the 1491 Verona edition of Augurelli's verse.
