numerous biographical works, including two editions of Boswell's Life of Johnson (1820, 4 vol.; 1860, 1 vol.); volumes of collected letters and miscellanies, including that of Franklin (1833, 2 vol.) and Cromwell (1845-1846, 3 vol.); the collected speeches of Canning (1828, 6 vol.), Erskine (1812-1813, 5 vol.), Fox (1815, 6 vol.), and Sheridan (1860, 5 vol.); works on English history by Clarendon, Hume and Smollet; Lodge's Portraits of Illustrious Personages of Great Britain (c.1890, 8 vol.); The Gallery of Portraits: with memoirs (1833-1837, 7 vol.); together with numerous others, mostly 8vo, some wear to bindings, boards detached on a few volumes, rubbing to boards and spines, some soiling, spotting and browning
