Catalogue Note

This is at least the fifth edition of Gregory IX's Decretales. The preface, by Alexander de Nevo (Nievo) of Vicenza, is dated 1 August 1474; the letter at the end, by Petrus Albinianus Trecius (Pietro Albignano da Trezzo, a pupil of Alexander's in Padua), is dated 7 March 1475, and includes details about the operation of Jenson's workshop. Albignani had asked one Francesco Colucia to supervise the printing in Venice to ensure it was as correct as possible.
