Catalogue Note
A finely-produced facsimile of the Codex Aureus Epternacensis (Hs 156142, Germanisches Nationalmuseum, Nuremberg), a richly illuminated eleventh-century Ottonian manuscript of the Gospels produced at Echternach Abbey (Luxembourg), written in gold ink, and with a tenth-century jewelled cover containing an ivory plaque of the Crucifixion, probably produced in Trier.
